Concertmaster of the double-bass section
Honoured artist of the Russian Federation

He was born in Moscow, was educated in music in a special music school by the Academy named after the Gnesins, then he entered the State Music and Pedagogical institute named after the Gnesins (now the Russia Academy of Music Named after the Gnesins) in the class of Prof/ V.V.Khomenko, Honoured Worker of Arts. He started working professionally in the Moscow Symphony Orchestra as a concertmaster of the double-bass section.

In 1964 he joined the Thaikovsky Symphony Orchestra and a year later he already was deputy concertmaster of the double-bass section, and in 1977 he became its concertmaster. Since 1975 he has been teaching in the Russian Academy of Music named after the Gnesins and now he is the Academy'sprofessor. His students became winnder of international and regional music contests and work in the best orchestras of the country (the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra, the orchestra of the Bolshoi Theatre, etc.)

Alexander Belsky is active in giving solo concerts both at home and abroad. As a soloist, he performed at the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatoire (with the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra, with Vladimir Fedoseyev as conductor), at other concert halls of Moscow, gave a few solo concert in the hall of the Russian Academy of Music. As part of chamber orchestras he performed in Moscow, other Russian cities, Japan and Great Britain.
