12 and 19 September 2008 TSO will be in Zurich and Basel, Switzerland

The concerts staged by the Orpheum Foundation, established by private initiative in 1990, have become firmly established in the concert world. Throughout its existence, the foundation has consistently pursued the same goal, namely: to assist young, exceptionally gifted musicians at the beginning of their careers by facilitating concert appearances, establishing contacts and assisting in media relations. To date, it has enabled over 120 young talents from more than 30 countries to perform as a soloist or in a chamber music formation under professional conditions.

The soloists will be accompanied by the Tonhalle Orchestra, Zurich under the baton of Michael Sanderling and the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra of Moscow Radio under its doyen Vladimir Fedoseyev, who can already look back on a 12-year association with the Orpheum Foundation.
