Krassimira Stoyanova was born in Bulgaria and studied singing and violin at the Plodiv Music Academy and violin at the Conservatory Russe.

Mrs. Stoyanova made her professional debut in 1995 at the Opera National de Sofiya, where she sang a wide range of repertory: Rigoletto (Gilda), Le Nozze di Figaro (Susanna), Il Guarany (Cecilia), and Antonio Carlo Gomes' I Fosca (Delila), La Juive (Rachel), La Clemenza di Tito (Vitellia) and Idomeneo (Ilia).

Her international career developed rapidly and took her to the following opera houses and theaters: Metropolitan Opera: La Traviata (Violetta), Nationaloper Helsinki: Le nozze di Figaro (Gräfin), New Israeli Opera Tel Aviv: La Juive (Rachel) - new production, Don Giovanni (Donna Anna), Teatro Colon, Buenos Aires: I Pagliacci (Nedda) - new production - , Carnegie Hall: Les Huguenots (Valentine), La Battaglia di Lignano (Lida), Hamburgische Staatsoper. Since 1998 Krassimira Stoyanova has been engaged at the Wiener Staatsoper - and has sung in the following operas: La Juive - with TV-production (Rachel), Le Nozze di Figaro (Contessa), Carmen (Micaela), Les contes d'Hoffmann (Antonia), Turandot (Liù), I Pagliacci (Nedda), La Bohème (Mimi), etc...

The 2003/2004 season is presenting a new production of Verdi's Falstaff (Alice Ford) at the Wiener Staatsoper, and Le nozze di Figaro (Gräfin), Don Giovanni (Donna Anna), Turandot (Liù), I Pagliacci (Nedda) for Ms. Stoyanova.
Further highlights of the 2003/2004 season include Anna Bolena (title role) at Carnegie Hall with Opera Orchestra of New York, New York, Dvorak: Stabat Mater and Dimitri at the Wiener Konzerthaus, Bruckner: Te Deum at the Wiener Musikverein, and Dvorak: Stabat Mater at the Alte Oper Frankfurt.

For Krassimira Stoyanova, the 2004/2005 season began with Il Trovatore at the Washington Opera followed by Turandot (Liù) at the Metropolitan Opera, Falstaff (Alice), Simone Boccanegra (Amelia) and Les contes d’Hoffmann (Antonia) at the Vienna State Opera, a concert at the Carnegie Hall/New York and the Dvorak Requiem in Munich.
In 2005/06, the soprano gave already a highly noticed Anna in Puccini’s Le Villi at the Vienna State Opera (new production) as well as a celebrated Donna Anna in Don Giovanni in Bilbao (new production). She returned to the Vienna State Opera with Falstaff (Alice), a part that she also performed in Dresden. Additional highlights of this season were Otello (Desdemona) at the Gran Teatro del Liceu in Barcelona and in Tokyo (new productions) as well as Szymanowski’s Stabat Mater in Monte Carlo and Beethoven’s 9th symphony in the Wiener Musikverein.

Season 2006/07: season’s opening at the Vienna State Opera with Otello/Desdemona as well as performances of Le Villi and Nozze di Figaro (Countess) with M° Ozawa, concerts (Beethoven’s 9th) with Sir Colin Davis at the Gstaad Festival and Mariss Jansons at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Brahms requiem with M° Fedoseev at the Konzerthaus in Vienna, I Pagliacci/Nedda and La Traviata at the Metropolitan Opera New York, I Pagliacci at the Deutsche Oper Berlin. Upon special request of Plácido Domingo, she will participate in his gala concert in Vienna on May 19th, 2007.

The season 2007/08 will start with performances of Simone Boccanegra and Otello at the Vienna State Opera as well as La Bohème at the State Operas Munich and Dresden. In Munich she will give in this season also Luisa Miller. And she will again return to the Metropolitan Opera, this time with Les contes d’Hoffmann. At the Liceu in Barcelona she will debut in the role of Luisa Miller. And she will again participate in concerts with Mariss Jansons (Beethoven’s 9th in Salzburg and Baden-Baden as well as the Brahms requiem in Munich and at the Luzern Festival).

In the season 2008/09 the singer took part in the opera productions of "Othello" and "Falstaff" in the Vienna State Opera, "Simon Boccanegra" in Barcelona. In Metropolitan Opera she sang as Donna Anna from "Don Giovanni", in The Hamburg Opera Theatre - the main part in "Iphigenie en Tauride". The cooperation of Krassimira Stoyanova and Maurice Jansons continued in Dvorak's Requiem taking place in Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and in Musikferein in Vienna.
