Historical concerts.
Season 2009-2010

From the repertoire of the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra of different years.

The Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra opens the 80th jubilee season. In the new subscription “Historical concerts” the orchestra turns to memorable moments of its glorious past. In the programs of this cycle there will be compositions, formed a gold fund of the orchestra’s repertoire. “Historical concerts” – is also a memory about the great conductors, headed the TSO in the different time: Alexander Gauk, Nikolay Golovanov, Gennady Rozhdestvensky, Maxim Shostakovich and, of course, permanent leader of the orchestra since 1974 Vladimir Fedoseyev.
The orchestra’s chief conductor is sure: “It is necessary to know and to respect the traditions of the past… A performance art always reflects the spirit of the ages. Conductor is a special gift. Two talented conductors can’t have the same concepts. Of course, if in the basis of each concept there is an original idea an thought, but not simple originality”. The justice of these words, without doubts, will be confirmed by the subscription concerts which will be conducted by Maestro Vladimir Fedoseyev himself and his colleagues – Alexander Lazarev, Alexander Dmitriev, Maxim Shostakovich and Alexander Vedernikov.
